We are currently seeking a geomechanical modeling engineer to work
in a dynamic consulting and software development environment delivering
high quality results to our clients. The successful candidate for
this position will support a variety of consulting and research projects
for complex well design, thermal enhanced oil recovery, hydraulic
fracture stimulation, unconventional gas reservoir characterization,
reservoir monitoring, arctic oil and gas development, and subsurface
liquids and solids waste disposal.
The ideal candidate will possess a well-rounded geotechnical skill
set including consulting and/or research experience in several of the
following: engineering geology, petroleum engineering, theoretical
and practical rock and soil mechanics, numerical modeling (FLAC, UDEC,
CMG STARS, CMG GEM, EXOTHERM, ABAQUS, ECLIPSE or other codes), field
instrumentation, core and log analysis, and geotechnical laboratory
testing. Applicants should have the following qualifications:

M.Eng., M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Geotechnical, Petroleum, Mining or Geological
Engineering,

Consulting or resource industry experience (summer, co-op or full time),
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
-
Project management and leadership skills,
-
Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status in Canada preferred,
however foreign citizens eligible for a temporary work permit in Canada
will also be considered,

Registered with, or eligible for registration with the Association of
Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta as a
member or member-in-training.

Petroleum Geomechanics Specialist
(5-15 yr)
We are seeking a dynamic individual to develop and lead our
company into new markets both in Canada and abroad. This position will
appeal to experienced professionals with an entrepreneurial spirit who
are seeking a new challenge and the opportunity to develop and grow a
leading-edge technology company. Incentive-based remuneration and a significant management
and marketing role will be part of this position.
The successful candidate for this position will lead or support a
variety of consulting projects with Canadian and foreign oil and gas
operators and service companies. The candidate should have international
consulting experience and a well-rounded skill set including expertise
in: petroleum engineering, geomechanical modeling, log analysis, laboratory testing,
field instrumentation and project management.
Applicants must possess the following qualifications:

Advanced degree in engineering, geology or geophysics,

5 to 15 years of experience in Petroleum Geomechanics with an oilfield
consulting firm, service company or an oil and gas operator,

Contract positions of 1 to 8 weeks duration are occasionally available
in Calgary depending upon our project load. These positions may be ideal
for a graduate student or recent B.Sc. graduate. We are currently
interested in candidates possessing the following minimum qualifications:

B.Sc. in Geological, Petroleum, Civil or Mining Engineering,

Numerical modeling experience with FLAC or other geomechanical
codes,

Research or work experience in geomechanics or petroleum
engineering,
